Bognor are sitting top of our league and rightly so. This said the score line flatters the gap in performances.
Norfolk were limited on player numbers and put out an "experienced" side.
Sadly we conceded too many points in the first quarter, 17-0 down after 15 minutes. It was still this score at half time.
Norfolk pressured for the second 20 and were stopped from scoring by some persistent and some would argue professional fouls from a Bognor team who were hell bent on defending their line. 5 penalties in a row would usually see a penalty try or a player binned for such?
Half time and Norfolk felt hard done by!
Second half was more of the same.
Bognor front row was not seen punching, their next try was allowed despite the ball travelling forward by some 5 yards and plenty more to moan about.
I would normally restrain myself from bemoaning the gremlins in a game, but it is only fair to the 16 players in red that those reading this report be aware that a 15-10 score line in favour of Bognor would be a fair reflection of the match!
Bognor finished the match with 1 more try and won the game 29-0, also claimed the league title too.
Congratulations to Bognor on their successes.
Similar performance from the Norfolk next week against St. Francis will see a swing in results.
