Norfolk Arms hosted a plucky Chichester team and win at home

As is becoming an ever common theme, my ability to recall all or indeed many parts that make up the sum of a game of rugby are taking me ever closer to involuntary hospitalisation...

Chichester arrived having fallen foul of the winter bugs and some shopping demands, as such only had 12 players - fair play to them for turning up, much easier to cancel - and it is such that the new regulations for games at our level we must try to have parity of numbers. In short we either lend them enough players to get within one of us or reduce our player numbers to match them. Thank you to Toby English and Sean Alexander for taking the difficult move and putting on a blue shirt for the first 40, these were swapped at half time for Jim Manvell and Tyler White (this would cost us later), super spirit from all.

Match kicked off at a canter and within minutes Norfolk Arms very own Nick Miller scored the first of 11 tries for the game. Sadly Tim (who had been drinking tea all night with Fireman Sam) missed the conversion and as a result handed any further kicking duties to Andrew Whatley, whom I'd like to thank for turning up this week... We scored 6 tries in the first half:
Nick Miller with 2, Mooey with 2, Simon Rowbotham with 1 and Jez Stewart with another. Andy Whatley converted 5 to give us a half time score of 40-0.
Second half got off to a slower start but soon the tries were being run in again. 1 more a piece for Mooey & Soap (Simon), these were joined by Peter Hoare, Andrew Whatley and Nick Miller again. Mr Whatley kicked 4 of 5 in the second half. The game would have been another successful defence of our try line if it was;t for our very own Tyler - Judas - White scoring what was a very well worked try for Chichester. Final score 73-5 which will be reported as 45-5 due to another ruling that dictates we cannot win by more than 40.

All in all another confident display in defence and attack. On a personal note, i'd love to see a few more at training this week to maybe give us an edge against Barns Green, a massive test of where we are since the start of the season?

See you all this Saturday (20th) for the big derby and Christmas Party...
