Norfolk Arms travelled to the new Barns Green pitch for the second league match of our season. These local derbies are always tight and physical affairs that are a testament to the spirit of our game, hard but fair. To break with tradition, i thought i'd paste in some comments from players to give a true reflection of the game...
"Absolute pleasure today, boys. Showed great guts and pride to push them all the way. Stonking performances right across the team. Credit to Barns Green for making it a hard fought but highly enjoyable battle !"
"Want to say great work today guys, deserved more out of it in the end but that's rugby in the end."
"Thanks mate always a pleasure and you always know when you play the Norfolk as I feel as if I have been run over by a train ....(Barns Green Player)."
The scoring sequence can be seen on the match tracker below. In short, Barns Green scored two converted tries in the first half and we scored one unconverted try through Matthew - Mooey - Hodson, giving a half time score of 12-5.
Second half was a more even affair with two tries a piece, one for Nick Miller and another - matching his family life with twins - for Mooey.
Final score was 28-17
We are hosting our first home game at Steyning this coming Saturday. It promises to be another tough local match against Pulborough. Please make every effort to play or support...
See you there.
