Sadly I was unable to be at Pulborough for our local derby match and in the absence of any other match reports I have gleaned the following if brief details…
As a whole we were not really "in the game" or "at the races" for large chunks of the match, the positives were there and indeed lead for the majority, despite our poor show.
Not exactly too sure of the whole scoring sequance
Pulborough scored the first try from an unapposed charge down which was converted.
Conversions ended up being the deciding factor, as Pulborough managed 66% to our 33%.
Jez Stewart scored a typical sniping run that split the pulborough defence, and Andy W converted.
Pulbourough then scored again after a sequence of mistakes, this was again converted.
Mooey scored a short charge through a number of the pulborough team defending too close to the line, unconverted.
Andy W scored after the a good period of team. The forwards set up a great platform for quick ball that found its way to Richard Addy in space, in the ensuing tackle he managed to find a looping Jez, who in turn found Andy W with enough space to open his legs, a couple of great steps saw him cross the line. Sadly the conversion went astray.
The Norfolk then gave up any thought of attacking play and defended pretty much the whole of the second half. The defence on whole was pretty effective.
It was in the last 5 minutes, where we failed to clear our own line, allowing turn over which Pulborough eventally touched down in the corner, the conversion was missed.
We still came away from the game with 2 points, which may still prove vital at the end of the season.
Too many poor descisions at the wrong times during the game, cost us dearly.
