Arms undone by Shoreham

As ever, I am struggling for full and total recall but... Its been a few years since both first teams have met for a league derby match. Some great matches have gone before and this wasn't any different.

Firstly a huge thank you to Tim Laker and Tom Hoare who both deputised into the front row, a truly selfless action from both. Tim, following in his fathers footsteps rather than his behemoth brothers for once! Fatty Laker...
The game got off at a canter and it was Shoreham who scored first and early, 0-7. This was followed by a second try soon after, no conversion. 0-12. Then the Norfolk awoke and started to get some control. rewarded after ten minutes with a penalty, Tim Laker scored 3-12. More Norfolk pressure and it was Tunde who scored his first from a well chased kick and chip, Tim adding the conversion 10-12. Shoreham then scored a penalty of their own, 12-15 and finally at half time another try - despite all barr the ball carrier thinking it was out - giving them a 12-22 lead as we turned around.
Shoreham had many more on the rolling bench and this was to prove a factor as the second half played out. 8 rolling subs being used frequently. The game ebbed and flowed for the next 20 minutes, both teams creating some good attacking play. Norfolk always within a score, tries from Tunde (classic charge down and one from TBC meant the score was 27 - 32 with 15 to go. At this point Norfolk lost Stu Yeomans from the second row and were nab le to field another sub, as such finished the game out with 14 on the field and Shoreham (with the fresh legged bench) took full advantage running in a further 3 tries. Final score 27-51.
Great effort from all. Man of Match performance for Tunde, Teo was superb in the lineout and a huge welcome to PJ, Stuart & Paul as debutants to the club.
